My first ever German course! I have been taking a German course in Bern for the past 4 weeks and I am finally finished and will be going to school full time. We have Rotary students from all over the world, different native languages, all together in the same class learning the same language for the first time IN a language we have never learned before.... wowowowow ein wenig schwerig ("a little hard" in german) I got a 76% on my final exam for the course. German is a very difficult langauge to learn because there are so many rules and its a guessing game for me half the time, but the course was very helpful for learning the basics and many verbs to get me started. Every morning it would take me 1hr and 15mins to get from my house to the course; my means of transportation included biking, taking a bus, then train and then a tram. I love my classmates they are all so wonderful and openminded. I made some great friends that come from all over the world (Peru, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, Russia, USA, Canada and Brazil) We travelled around Bern (the city the course takes place) together and some of the things we did/saw were: the Einstein house, we walked up what felt like 1001 steps to the top of a church that looked over the city, got some good gelato, saw the parliament building and went to the Aare river, the others went o go and see the "Bern bears" but they are in captivity in the city and I'm not about that so I continued walking down the river.
